The mission of the Office is to support the 34 OAS Member States in their efforts to ensure quality education for all and to protect and draw on their rich cultural heritage to promote economic, social and human development.
The Office carries out this mission through four main strategies: fostering policy dialogue; promoting capacity building; creating and strengthening networks and alliances; and facilitating technical cooperation. More

 Ministerial Meetings
Ministers of Education from the 34 member states of the OAS meet approximately every two years in order discuss current issues in education policy and practice, establish a regional agenda for educational cooperation, and review the progress made on mandates related to education that emanate from the Summit of the Americas and previous education ministerial meetings.
