Engineering for the Americas (EftA)

Engineering for the Americas (EftA)  is a hemispheric initiative of the OAS that originated from the Lima Declaration during the First Meeting of Ministers and High Authorities on Science and Technology in Lima in 2004.
EftA responds to the recognition that engineering constitutes a platform that boosts socio-economic growth in the Americas. Therefore, EftA has three main objectives:
  1. Promote improvement to quality of engineering education through curricular updates with global competencies and support to teachers.
  2. Strengthen the mobility of engineering services reinforcing national capacities and promoting the compliance of technical services with international standards.
  3. Promote links of cooperation between the academia and the productive sector.
