What do we do?
- Provide e-goverment capacity-building for mayors and managers of local governments;
- Offer technical assistance for the construction and definition of local e-Government strategies, and;
- Facilitate the transfer of technology: e-Government application package “e-Muni”, which includes: MuniPortal (municipal portal), MuniCompra (municipal procurement) and MuniServi (municipal services for citizens).
Results
- Fiscal savings obtained at the local level through the increased efficiency of municipal operations.
- Augmentation of transparency in the provision of services.
- The expressed satisfaction of the participants and an increase in overall citizen participation.
- The effective development of municipal portals.

Together, the OAS and the Canadian International Development Agency are contributing to the advancement of electronic government throughout the region.
The OAS through the Executive Office of SEDI, in conjunction with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA-ACDI), seek to promote the advancement of electronic government in the region. In addition to what has been mentioned previously, these e-government tools also foster the:
- Creation of small businesses
- Training of human resources
- Promotion of improved health services
- General improvement of living conditions for affected populations
