The MuNet e-Government Program was implemented in the Nicaraguan Municipalities of Masaya during the administration of Mayor Orlando Noguera and in the Municipality of León during the administration of Mayor Tránsito Téllez.

 
MuNet in the Municipality of Masaya

The MuNet team of Masaya was coordinated by Rosa Argentina García and later on by Denis Álvarez and Luis Raudes. The team received a seven (7) week course on e-Government strategies which allowed them to design their own e-Government strategy that applied to their municipality. At the beginning of the implementation of MuNet e-Government, Masaya counted with a static website with poor updates.

Masaya successfully implemented MuniPortal and today their URL is www.masaya.gob.ni

 It is important to recall their constant collaboration with Municipality on León in the implementation of e-Muni toolkit.

During the implementation of the program, the MuNet Manager was Hugo Rene Cabrera who, along with the team members, received a seven (7) week training program on e-Government Strategies that allowed them to design their own strategy to be applied to Leon Municipality. Their success in the implementation of e-Government Strategy and their transparency and efficiency were recognized by an ONG in Luxemburg, and also received compliments on the diffusion of relevant skills and know-how to neighbor communities.

Before MuNet e-Government, Municipality of Leon did not count with a Website. They successfully implemented MuniPortal and MuniCompra thanks to the support of MuNet e-Government:
