Fourth Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Culture and Highest Appropriate Authorities

Within this topic, four sub-topics were analyzed:

1. How to develop effective public policies for the development and sustainability of a vibrant cultural sector?

2. How does an artist obtain international recognition?

3. What is the impact of partnerships and alliances in the economy of culture and what is the role of the public and private sectors and of international partners?

4. How to engage youth in the economy of culture?

This was also the first time youth delegates presented to Ministers of Culture of the Hemisphere concrete recommendations on youth arts policy. These recommendations emanated from the Youth Arts Policy Forum: Ignite the Americas held in Toronto, Canada on September 15 - 21, 2008.

The two most important documents emanated from the Fourth Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Culture and Highest Appropriate Authorities were: the Communiqué and the Resolution
